Overview

Lower Dolpo exploring trek is off the beaten trek into “The Hidden Land of Dolpo" which winds through one of the least frequented trails of Dolpo. The Lower Dolpo exploring trek is a complete exploration and discovery Lower Dolpo region of Nepal. This trek encircles Lower Dolpo. In this trek, we explore some of the very authentic culture of the Dolpo region visit revered Buddhist monuments, and step on one of the highest human settlements.

"Lower Dolpo" region is one of the most beautiful regions in Dolpo Nepal. Lower Dolpo is the home to Khas, Magar, and Dolpo Pa people and a blended culture of Hinduism, Shamanism, Bon, and Buddhism. Lower Dolpo retains the many ancient Bon and Buddhist monasteries along the trail.

Our Lower Dolpo Exploring trek begins from Juphal to the Dho Tarap classic trail along the Thuli Bheri Gorge and Tara Gorge. From Dho Tarap we trek west-north to Chhyutang and Sagar Khola Valley "a completely new trail", around the Phoksundo Lake, and to Rigmo village. Beyond Phoksundo Lake we pass through Pugmo village, Kagamara Pass, and return to Juphal.
